A 30-inch deck cuts our mowing time from 55 minutes to 35. After two seasons that’s a real number.
The Time Math
We mow approximately 18,000 sq ft of grass. With our previous 21″ mower at a walking pace with the self-propel, we covered it in about 55 minutes. With the 30″ TimeMaster, we cover it in 35-38 minutes. That’s 17-20 minutes saved every mowing cycle, roughly 30 times per season, or approximately 9 hours per year. Over 20 months we’ve saved roughly 12 hours of mowing time. That’s meaningful.
What We Like
- 30″ deck is meaningfully faster than 21″ — not marketing math
- Dual-blade system provides excellent mulching
- Self-propel speed range accommodates different walking paces
- Personal Pace system adjusts automatically
What We Don’t
- Too wide for tight gates — measure before buying
- Heavier than single-blade mowers
- Harder to maneuver around trees and beds
Measure your gate before buying this. Mine was 31 inches. I made it work by removing the discharge guard.

The Bottom Line
Best time investment for lots over 1/4 acre if you have straight-line mowing to do.
