The laser reveals dust you didn’t know existed. After 10 months you’ll either thank us or resent us for recommending it.
The Laser Feature
Dyson’s Fluffy Optic head has a built-in laser aimed at the floor at a precise angle. In normal lighting, a floor looks clean. With the laser running, you can see a field of fine dust particles the human eye cannot detect under normal light conditions. It is either revelatory or horrifying depending on your psychological relationship with household cleanliness.
What We Like
- Laser mode reveals fine dust invisible to the naked eye
- LCD screen shows particle count in real time — oddly motivating
- Suction on Boost mode is best we’ve used
- 60-minute runtime on Eco mode is legitimately long
What We Don’t
- $750 is genuinely a lot for a vacuum
- Bin is small for a large home
- Heavy at the wrist for ceiling/overhead work
The particle counter is either the best or worst feature depending on your dust anxiety level.

The Bottom Line
Best cordless vacuum made. Price is the only reasonable objection.
