The Owner Perspective participates in affiliate marketing programs. This page explains exactly what that means and how it affects the content you read here.
What Affiliate Links Are
Some links on this site — typically “Check Current Price” buttons at the bottom of reviews — are affiliate links. When you click one of these links and make a purchase at the retailer, we may receive a small commission. The price you pay is not affected.
Which Programs We Participate In
We participate in affiliate programs operated by major retailers including Amazon, Home Depot, Best Buy, and others. These programs are operated by the retailers directly or through third-party affiliate networks.
How This Affects Our Reviews
It doesn’t. We earn the same commission whether we recommend a product or tell you to avoid it. Our verdicts, scores, and written opinions are formed entirely by the owner’s experience with the product and are not influenced by potential affiliate revenue.
Products we tell you to skip often have affiliate links too — because if you’re going to buy it anyway, we’d rather earn a small commission than not. That logic makes our affiliate program financially irrelevant to our review outcomes.
Products We Don’t Recommend
If a product receives a “Skip It” verdict, we typically include a link to a recommended alternative rather than a link to the product itself. We do not encourage purchases of products we don’t believe in.
FTC Disclosure
In accordance with Federal Trade Commission guidelines (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose that we may earn compensation from affiliate links. This disclosure appears on every page where affiliate links may be present.
