The Owner Perspective publishes reviews from real owners. If you’ve owned something long enough to have a strong opinion about it — and you can write clearly about that opinion — we want to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
We publish reviews in seven categories: vehicles, home appliances, home security systems, laptops, power tools, lawn equipment, and toilets and bathroom fixtures. We’re open to expanding categories if the right reviewer comes along.
The ideal submission comes from someone who:
- Has owned the product for at least six months (12+ months preferred for major purchases)
- Has a clear point of view — not “it’s pretty good overall” but “here’s exactly what surprised me and why”
- Can write in plain language without jargon
- Has no financial relationship with the manufacturer
What a Submission Looks Like
A complete submission includes:
- A review of 600–1,200 words covering your real experience with the product
- A structured breakdown: what you like, what you don’t, an owner’s note, and a bottom line conclusion
- Scores across our five dimensions (reliability, value, build quality, usability, satisfaction) on a 0–10 scale
- One of three verdicts: Buy It, Worth It With Caveats, or Skip It
- Proof of purchase or ownership documentation
- How long you’ve owned the product
Compensation
We pay a flat rate of $50 per published review. Payment is made via PayPal or Venmo within 14 days of publication. We do not pay for reviews that don’t meet our editorial standards, and publication is not guaranteed.
What Happens After You Submit
We review every submission within two weeks and respond to every inquiry. If your submission meets our standards, we’ll confirm publication, request any clarifications, and schedule it in our editorial calendar. We may edit for clarity and length; we don’t edit for opinion.
How to Submit
Send your submission or a pitch (including what product, how long you’ve owned it, and your one-sentence take) to [email protected]. We respond to every message, usually within a few days.
