At 44 dBA it’s genuinely silent. At $1,100 it’s genuinely expensive. After 16 months: worth it.

Is the Quiet Worth It?

We have an open floor plan. Our previous dishwasher meant raising voices during cycles. The Bosch 500 runs and you genuinely cannot tell unless you’re standing next to it. If you’ve ever run a dinner party through the end of a dishwasher cycle while trying to have conversation, you understand what this buys.

What We Like

  • Inaudible during normal conversation — marketing is accurate
  • Third rack is legitimately useful for utensils and small items
  • Cleaning performance is best we’ve owned
  • Zero issues in 16 months

What We Don’t

  • Price is hard to defend vs. $600 alternatives that clean as well
  • No heated dry — condensation dry only, which works but takes longer
  • Installation guide assumes professional installation
Owner’s Note

My previous dishwasher cost $450 and also cleaned dishes. I can tell the difference in noise. I cannot always tell the difference in clean.

Owned for 16 months before this review was published.

The Bottom Line

Best dishwasher we’ve owned. Objectively hard to recommend over a $650 GE at $450 more.
